Early pay rise for Welsh nurses

Nurses in Wales are to receive their full annual 2.5% pay increase ahead of their colleagues in England, who will receive the rise in two stages.

The 2.5%, backdated to April 1, was announced by health minister Edwina Hart, who said the Welsh nurses ‚Äúdeserved their pay in full.‚Ä? The Royal College of Nursing Wales welcomed the decision. Scottish nurses will also receive the rise in full while nurses in England and Northern Ireland have been offered 1.5% from April with a further 1% in November.
