Education for breast awareness

31st October 2007

The charity Breast Cancer Care has warned that women of all ages need to be educated about how to be breast aware.

It follows findings that showed more than half of women aged 70 and over were unaware that the risk of breast cancer increases with age. The survey also revealed that 30% of women in the age group thought they no longer had to check their breasts and only 47% knew the meaning of breast awareness. The charity recommends women make breast awareness part of their daily routine.
