Eight south-west trusts procure PACS

Eight trusts in south-west England have joined forced to procure new PACs and RIS contracts.

The trusts involved - Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Weston Area Health NHS trust - are currently running picture, archiving and communication systems (PACS) from GE Healthcare under contracts bought through the National Programme for IT in the NHS but from 2013 will move to contracts procured independently.
