Entire GP practice system stolen

27th November 2008

The Liberal Democrats have obtained a list of NHS data thefts, which reveals - amongst other crimes - that an entire GP practice system was stolen.

Liberal Democrat health spokesman Norman Lamb said the government's reports "show utterly shocking lapses in security. The degree of negligence in some cases is breathtaking given the absolute sensitivity of personal patient data. Patients have a right to expect their information will be treated with the utmost care."
