ePMA go-live at Stockport

25th October 2011

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that it plans to go live with the iSoft electronic prescription system in February next year.

Helen Bennett, the trust's assistant director of IT, said they planned to go live on the gastroenterology and elderly wards first: "We are being quite ambitious with the wards we are going live with, but we feel that if we get it running successfully in those two wards we would have ironed out any of the problems. The reason why we chose these two is because we wanted to do medical wards – if you involve surgical wards you have to worry about patients going to theatre, and there would have been a larger number of staff to train."
