Thankfully, the BBC news feeds are back up with not too many visitors to the site disrupted. Traffic is building slowly but it won't be until next week that we have a major push on visitors.

One of the wonderful things about web development is that you can make changes on the fly. Today we updated the homepage to ensure that our pages would still load properly even if the live feeds go down. It didn't take too long but it's comforting to know that we don't have to send out lots of CD-ROMs with patches to all our clients. Remember those days? They weren't that long ago.

The magazines will have hit the streets today and already subscriptions are coming in. Lots of positive feedback about the first issue which has been very encouraging. But it's still early days...
