Extra flu jab clinics on offer

16th October 2007

GPs will hold flu jab sessions at surgeries until the the end of October, with Saturday morning sessions available at many surgeries for elderly and "at-risk" patients.

In Torquay, Dr Gary Tudor confirmed that he could offer vaccinations to 800 people in one morning session. He said the process "would take three times as long if we were to do it in ordinary practice time."

Dr Laurence Buckman, GPC chair, defended the current programme of offering vaccinations once every year and praised "the innovative ways GPs are working to do the best for their patients."
