Fat camp for children

29th April 2008

The first "fat camp" for children in the UK under the age of eight has just finished its first programme.

Run by Professor Paul Gately, director of Carnegie Weight Management at Leeds Metropolitan University, the camp is designed to help children to lose weight and inform parents about how best to feed their children. Professor Gately said: "The more we can nip pre-school obesity in the bud, the more successful we'll be at tackling later-childhood and adult obesity."
