Flu vaccination training sessions for nurses

11th August 2011

NHS Employers have sent NHS organisations advice to begin training sessions for flu link nurses ahead of the next seasonal influenza vaccination campaign for staff.

The guidance sent to trusts, titled Flufighting – Getting Started, sets out preparatory steps to be taken now and over the next few months with a warning that NHS organisations should start to begin to run flu link nurse training sessions (or e-learning) as soon as possible. The guidance also advises trusts to take photographs of senior staff, including the nursing director, having the jab in September for promotion on staff intranet pages.
