Fluoride varnish trial for children's teeth

24th August 2010

A new health trial has been launched in the Lothians, which will see 150 dentists taking part to improve the dental health of children aged under five.

The teeth of the children taking part will be painted with fluoride varnish to help them resist decay. Edinburgh dentist Ian Fenny said "Bringing Childsmile into general dental practice is an important link in ensuring every child in Lothian from birth to school is not allowed to fall through the net of not being provided with any form of dental health education or preventative treatment."
