Food additives education important

The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) says that many people do not fully understand which food additives are dangerous and which are safe.

Anna Denny, a nutrition scientist for BNF, made her comments after reports that four major supermarkets have promised to ban artificial additives from their own brands of food by next year.

She the key issue was of using a generic term and ‚Äúlumping all food additives together‚Ä? without understanding the important role they play in terms of food safety and variety.
