Fourth chair in two years for troubled trust

2nd November 2011

An East London hospital trust has announced the appointment of its fourth chair since January 2010.

George Wood is the new interim chair of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust and has taken up his post straight away after previous interim chair Edwin Doyle announced he was stepping down with immediate effect. It has been suggested Mr Doyle had been considering enforcing a reduction in the number of births at Queen’s Hospital, after Care Quality Commission criticism of its maternity service, something NHS London were unhappy about.
