19th September 2008

Speaking at a Foundation Trust Network conference, executive chairman of Monitor Bill Moyes has said that the Department of Health may reassert its control if an organisation cannot prove that it is locally accountable. He said that foundations would not be wound up but added that if local accountability failed there were "still lots of ways within the framework that centralising processes can be reasserted".
