Fujitsu may lose PACS deal

17th June 2008

Fujitsu may lose out on having its contract renewed to provide Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) services to NHS trusts in the south of England.

The news follows the termination of Fujitsu’s £1.1bn contract as local service provider (LSP) for the region. Fujitsu has been expected to get the PACS deal renewed but when the LSP contract was terminated, it also saw the end of the PACS contract. This now leaves NHS trusts across the south with systems not covered by formal support contracts.
