Fujitsu possible redundancies

25th June 2008

The termination of Fujitsu’s £1.1bn contract by Connecting for Health has now seen up to 700 staff working on the NHS Southern Programme for IT facing the threat of redundancy.

The former local service provider is to hold discussions with the 1,000 members of staff working on the NHS IT contract to outline what their options are now that the work has been suspended. The Unite union, which represents most of Fujitsu’s UK staff, has called on the government to safeguard the jobs affected.
