Go ahead for Sick Children's building

19th September 2012

Approval has been given for a £150m replacement for Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Following delays over site negotiations, it has emerged that the new hospital will be built at Little France with work due for completion in 2017. It will replace the current children’s hospital at Sciennes and the department of clinical neurosciences at the Western General Hospital and also provide new facilities for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service which will move from the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
