Government discusses herbal medicines position

A government consultation has proposed that herbal and alternative medicines should be regulated.

The Department of Health consultation will run until 2 November this year. NHS Alliance chairman Dr Michael Dixon said: "The public are already seeing these practitioners. We need to be assured that they are safe and know what they are doing within the modality of those treatments."
