GP helps cricket team-mate

A man in his 40s who suffered a heart attack while playing cricket for a team of GPs in Devon was revived by a team-mate who had a defibrillator in his car.

The player fell ill at the start of the match at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club on Sunday afternoon and was lying unconscious on the pitch but was aided by one of the GPs who rushed to help. The man was taken to hospital by the Devon Air Ambulance and is said to be making progress.
