GPs face huge bills for polyclinic bids

8th July 2008

Pulse has revealed that GPs will face huge bills - up to £100,000 - when they bid for polyclinics.

According to a document obtained by Pulse, it is predicted that practices will have to pay out anything from £40,000 to £90,000 during the tendering process. Dr Chaand Nagpaul, GPC negotiatior, said: "It will never be level when GPs are being asked to dig into their own pockets at significant risk, and bidding against commercial organisations".
