GPs should accept longer hours

11th February 2008

The General Practitioners Committee has urged GPs to say yes to the Department of Health's offer on extended hours after the government agreed to provide a slightly more flexible deal.

GPC chairman Dr Laurence Buckman said they were not endorsing the latest change, but added: "there wasn't much between the offer and the imposition before. There has been sufficient movement by the government to say, this will do you less damage".
