Group set up to help victims of violence

11th March 2010

Health Minister Ann Keen has announced that a new group has been set up to offer support to women and children who have been affected by violence.

She said: "Compared to the police, schools or social services, the NHS spends more time dealing with the impact of violence against women and children and although the Taskforce report identifies many examples of excellent care across the country, it is clear that we need to do more to help victims...that is why we are setting up an Implementation Group to drive forward work in this area and to help raise awareness of this terrible issue."
