Guidelines on knee osteoarthritis

7th December 2007
An article which reviewed guidelines for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA) has said they show considerable variations and are lacking in "educational information".

The piece, published in Arthritis Research & Therapy, was the product of a 13-strong clinical research team who closely investigated six sets of knee OA treatment guidelines.

However, their research showed that found "most of the reports only addressed a minority of the Appraisal of Guidelines Research and Evaluation (Agree) issues about OA treatment".
