Health worker had measles
20th March 2012Over 60 people have been identified as at risk of infection and offered a MMR jab after a person working at a Welsh surgery was found to have measles.
Public Health Wales said the health worker had been in contact with patients at Bronmeirion Surgery in Penrhyndeudraeth. Dr Judy Hart, consultant in communicable disease control for Public Health Wales said the majority of people who were born prior to 1970 have an immunity to measles and added: "People younger than this may not have been exposed to measles and so they may be at risk unless they have received two doses of the MMR vaccine."
