Health worker has TB

14th February 2008

An unnamed health worker employed at five GP practices and a nursing home in Kent between September and December last year has been diagnosed with an infectious form of tuberculosis.

A letter has now been sent to more than 30,000 patients and staff who have been in close contact with the healthcare worker inviting them for screening but also reassuring them that the risk of them having TB is very low. The worker is now on sick leave and being treated for the condition.
