Homes more stressful than work

28th June 2010

According to the results of a poll of 3,000 people carried out by electronics company Philips, partners and spouses are more stressful than bosses.

Nearly six in 10 (58%) said their partner was regularly guilty of causing them to feel stressed, compared to less than half (43%) who found their boss stressful. Cary Cooper, professor of health psychology at Lancaster University, said: "One of the causes of stress is the long hours culture. If you consistently put in long hours, it will damage your health and also your relationship at home."
