Hospital asks people to stay away

20th March 2008

The Great Western Hospital in Swindon urged people suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting to stay away from its premises in a bid to avoid an outbreak of a bug at the hospital.

While it stressed that no wards had closed, health bosses were aware a bug was “doing the rounds in the area and were anxious for people not to bring it into the hospital. The hospital advised anyone suffering symptoms to contact their local pharmacist or NHS Direct for advice.
