Hospital car park fees rise

23rd July 2007

Charges at two hospital car parks in Nottinghamshire are set to go up by as much as 50%.

Under planned changes, a six-hour stay at Kings Mill hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield and Newark Hospital are going up from £3 to £4.50. The charge for an hour’s parking will go up to £1.50, a 30p increase, but will be fixed for two years. Hospital managers say the additional income will pay for new spaces and increased security, including more CCTV and patrols.
