Hospital cleared of wrongdoing

19th September 2008

An investigation into maternal deaths at Northwick Park Hospital has cleared the trust of any wrongdoing.

The hospital, which is part of the North West London Hospitals trust, was investigated by an expert panel which was asked to look into three deaths and two serious untoward incidents at the hospital during 2007-08. It follows a Healthcare Commission review in 2006 into the deaths of 10 maternity patients. It found there was an over-reliance on agency staff and weak support from managers.
