Hygiene campaign launch

30th November 2007

The Department of Health has launched a campaign in Trafalgar Square in London aimed at reducing the spread of colds and flu through improved hygiene.

The "giant human sneezing spectacle" launched the DoH's "Catch it, Bin it, Kill it" campaign, which will be displayed in advertisements on public transport, workplaces and shopping centres.

According to Professor Lindsey Davies, National Director of Pandemic Influenza Preparedness, “If we all follow the simple rules of [the campaign], the spread of colds, flu and similar illnesses could be reduced".
