IBM becomes Leicester's IT partner

9th January 2013

IBM has been selected to provide IM&T services and procure and implement a new electronic patient record at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

The agreement, signed just before Christmas, will see trust IT staff and services transferred over to it over the next 18 months. The trust issued a tender in November 2011, saying it was looking for a partner to improve its IT services, implement an EPR and form a commercial arrangement to deliver services to other organisations. The tender process is reported as being worth up to £600m over 15 years.
