Iced coffee calorie warning

27th July 2009

The World Cancer Research Fund UK has warned that some iced coffee drinks sold in high-street shops contain a very high amount of calories.

A Starbucks Dark Berry Mocha Frappuccino had 561 calories - the equivalent of 25% of a woman's recommended daily calorie intake. Dr Rachel Thompson, Science Programme Manager for WCRF, said: "This is the amount of calories you might expect to have in an evening meal, not in a drink."
