Imperial latest to breach DPA

30th July 2009

The Information Commissioner's Office has required Imperial College Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to commit to an undertaking not to break the Data Protection Act.

The trust is in the process of improving its security after six laptops were taken in two separate thefts at St Mary's Hospital. One of the computers held data that was not encrypted. The trust said it was ensuring all information was encrypted and to tell its employees about security policy.
