Inadequate healthcare schemes

8th June 2007

New research has shown many financial firms do not have good enough corporate healthcare schemes in place to make an impact on levels of employee illness.

Employee Benefits and HSA published figures showing nearly half of the firms in the financial industry do not introduce measures to target sickness absence. 85% of companies in the sector do not give to a healthcare scheme, which could help to lessen the amount of time taken off work by staff. Amanda Wilkinson, editor of magazine Employee Benefits, said: "Finance companies that do not have a strategy in place to reduce sickness are missing a trick."
