Industrial action for theatre staff

23rd February 2011

Theatre nurses at a south London hospital have voted in favour of industrial action.

The staff at St George’s Hospital are angry over changes to rotas proposed by St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust. A Unison representative said 95% of about 200 nurses that voted in an indicative ballot at the end of January were in favour of the action. The new arrangements would introduce a variety of shifts designed to meet needs of the service and would replace a basic Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5.00pm pattern.
