Infringement procedure started on Roche

24th October 2012

An infringement procedure is under way to investigate the Swiss group Roche Holding AG following concerns that it failed to properly report tens of thousands of cases of possible adverse drug reactions.

The move by the European Medicines Agency is reported to relate to 19 Roche medicine,s with the outcome of the investigation to be reported to the European Commission, which could impose fines or penalty payments. The issue of lax drug-safety reporting by Roche was first flagged up by the agency in June.
