Is our water being poisoned?

30th September 2008

Scientists have cautioned that the drinking water supply in the UK may be contaminated by cancer medication, the Daily Mail reports.

The trace amounts could, in theory, damage a developing foetus, according to one doctor. The Drinking Water Inspectorate has been asked by the government to test water in a pilot trial. A spokesman for the Inspectorate said previous tests had: "found no significant risk to health because anything was so diluted it was innocuous. This is a way of double checking."
