IVF funding ban reversed at NHS Surrey

16th November 2011

NHS Surrey is to reinstate IVF treatment from April 2012, reversing the decision is made in November 2010 to halt funding for the treatment.

It was one of a number of primary care trusts across the country that opted to cease funding or restrict funding of IVF, contrary to guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. From April 1, NHS Surrey’s assisted conception policy will apply as it did prior to November 2010. The trust was in “unanimous agreement” to lift the current restrictions.
