John Perry prize awarded to Dr Fisher

8th October 2012

A London GP has been awarded the John Perry prize for his work on the promotion of patient record access.

Dr Brian Fisher has offered his patients access to their records for more than 25 years and is the clinical lead of a company which provides touch screen kiosks in surgeries (Patient access to Electronic Records Systems).  Roz Foad, chair of the PHCSG, said: "Patient access is very topical at the moment and Brian is fantastic. Like him I’m worried it may be swallowed up by some enormous organisation and I wanted the group to make a demonstration of how important this actually is."
