Lansley replaced by Hunt

4th September 2012

The Prime Minister's cabinet reshuffle has appointed Jeremy Hunt as the new Health Secretary, replacing Andrew Lansley.

David Cameron has promoted Mr Hunt, who was previously the Culture Secretary and who was under scrutiny for his role in the BSkyB takeover bid. Mr Lansley will now take on the role of Leader of the House of Commons. His change in role can be seen as a demotion, after he was widely criticised for his plans to reform the NHS.
