Level 2 cold weather alert issued

28th November 2012

Health and social care providers have been warned that temperatures across the UK are set to fall over the next few days.

The Met Office forecasts a 60% chance of temperatures in some northern parts of England being low enough on at least two consecutive days to give rise to significant health risks. The alert has been issued by the Department of Health which is reminding health care professionals and managers and staff of residential and nursing homes that specific advice on steps to follow in the event of severe cold weather is available from its website.
