Lost appointment bookings at Barts26th January 2009
Following a mistake where 2,000 phone bookings were left on a spreadsheet, over 400 patients were forced to wait more than 13 weeks for appointments.
An investigation into the problems at Barts and London NHS Trust has been launched. The trust told E-Health Insider: "Urgent cases were dealt with first and patients booked in to see a consultant as quickly as possible. Investigations to date by clinical staff have confirmed that no patient has come to direct clinical harm as a result of this issue."
