Lots of love for the NHS

13th August 2009

The social networking site Twitter has been deluged with positive responses about the health service after NHS Choices asked readers to show their support.

A "twitter ribbon" called "welovetheNHS" was created so that users could post updates about the topic, after right-wing criticism in the US called the health service "evil" and "Orwellian". It became the highest ranking "trending topic" on 12 August, before being removed from the site.
