LTCs tool developed

15th December 2011

The need to monitor the treatment of patients with long-term conditions within NHS Coventry has led to the production of a new module for MSD Informatics’ Clinical Manager.

Presenting his work at the recent NHS Alliance conference public health consultant and associate medical director at NHS Coventry, Dr Peter Barker, said the drive for the project came from the primary care trust’s need to improve secondary prevention for cardiovascular disease, to decrease health inequalities, and monitor practice performance management.

The Long-term condition Optimal Treatment Module aggregates QOF data by extracting data from all the major GP IT systems.
