Lung cancer in women reaches 20,000 a year

For the first time since records began lung cancer cases in women have reached 20,000 a year.

According to data from Cancer Research UK, the 2012 figure is a rise from 14,000 in 1993.

This figures means rate of lung cancer in the female population has risen by 22%.
