Maidstone fights infections

23rd November 2007

The new head of infection prevention for hospitals where 90 people died from a C.difficile outbreak has stated that standards have improved "enormously".

Dr Sara Mumford is in charge of ensuring similar problems do not occur again at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in Kent.

She said she wished to "build on the excellent work already done in bringing the [Maidstone] hospital up to a much higher standard than it was".
