Man charged over Nurofen Plus contamination

Police have charged 30-year-old Christopher McGuire from south London with the contamination of packs of Nurofen Plus.

He has been charged with two counts of administering a noxious substance and one of contaminating goods. Four packs of the medication were found to contain Seroquel XL, an anti-psychotic drug, while one contained Neurontin, which is used to treat epilepsy. The contaminated packs were bought in Victoria, Beckenham and Bromley in London, and in Northern Ireland.
