Managers' relationships with staff to be scrutinised

21st April 2009

The Department of Health has commissioned a review to investigate the relationship between staff and managers within the NHS.

Steve Boorman, the review's head, said: “NHS staff have a unique opportunity to be exemplars to patients. There’s a direct link between the health and wellbeing of employees and the quality of a service."

"My current impression is there’s a lot of variation. That suggests there’s scope to make some recommendations for improvement."
