Medics fail to spot skin cancer

16th September 2008

Cwm Taf NHS Trust has said that a claim has been made regarding "a delay in diagnosing cancer" where a young mother was not diagnosed with melanoma.

Tara Jones, of Treorchy in the Rhondda, had a mole excised at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant in 2005 and was told it was not cancerous. However, new tests showed the mole was malignant and it was "too late" for the cancer to be treated.
