Men 'drink more than women'

Information released by the Office for National Statistics shows that men drink on average  twice as many alcoholic units per week than women.

glassoflagerThe 2006 figures show that men drank an average of 18.7 units per week, in comparison to 9.0 units for women. 21% of men and 11% of women had consumed alcohol on five of the seven days in advance of the study. The information was collected from 16,500 households in the UK.
