Mental health trust chair resigns

26th April 2012

The chair of Avon and Wiltshire Partnership Trust, which has faced a difficult 12 months with the publication of a number of critical reports into the care of patients found guilty of killing friends and family members, has announced she is to resign.

In a statement, Felicity Longshaw said she had decided to resign after five years in the post. Chief executive Laura McMurtrie, who was on leave earlier this year due to ill health, will be taking a further period of leave from the mental health trust.
